Default My setup. Turbo lasted 70kms. Lesson learned!

Who hasn't heard someone say Don't buy Chinese turbos? Well i didn't believe them... take a look

This is my first car. I started building it when i was 17, I'm 18 now.

I finally got this car to be almost finished, still need some little things here and there.

As you can see from the pictures 2 of the fins on the compressor wheel are broken.

What happened is the nut holding the wheel on came off, i noticed the car wasn't making any boost and i couldn't hear the turbo spool anymore, so i took of the air filter and found the nut loose inside of it!

I think i spent about $2800-3200 Canadian, including the engine.

Setup;
Stock GSR head
Stock b18a block
dsm 450's
walbro 255
Turboedit, 1 wire vtec
it goes on, but thats the basics

I ordered precision 780cc/min injectors today, so now I don't have to worry about maxing the 450's out.

Progress is slow, there has been a high of -26 for like the last 2 weeks...

that sucks i think i have that same turbo on my b20 vtec setup. because mine has the m12 stamp on it also and when i bought it they gave me the whole it has garret internals and is a good turbo -runaround-. but anyways i havent had any problems so far. i had this turbo for a little over 4 years now pushin 9psi and making 342hp on my stock b20 bottom. but sorry to hear that i guess i just got one of those lucky 1 in 1million turbos made from the china man

I do have an elbow for it... its just not on yet. but now that i have some down time i'll get on it, same with the exhaust...

I just pulled the turbo off, the inside of the compressor housing is pretty messed up, wheel is garbage obviously, and there is definitely shaft play now lol.

Update** Ordered a new turbo, a Garrett T3 60-1. .63 a/r exhaust housing. S compressor cover.

Should be here in a couple weeks.

I'll keep it posted

Hell yeah fun turbo. Good decision to go with the TO4S comp housing too. I can't believe Chinese turbos don't even have Loc-tite on the compressor nut.

It could have been worse, you didn't suffer any engine damage so count your blessings and chalk it up as a lesson learned.
