Re:My Setup

Ok I finished modifying the IC... Basically what I did was made it flow one way.... before it use to flow in from the top... go through the IC from the top half and flow out the Bottom half... and now it flows in from one side... and out the other... I cut out a hole big enough for a 2in PVC pipe... I stuck it together using fiberglass resin... on both sides... in and out.. then i cut out the divider on one end of the IC and capped one of the inlet holes using the peice that was cut out from the other end tank and 3 layers of fiberglass... it looks a bit rough but there are no leaks...

heres some pics of the finished product.

HKS eat your heart out...

U can make your own gasket. Get a high temp gasket blank sheet and cut it out ;) good luck. Setup looks primo!

Did you say you drove it with no oil lines?????? I hate to be the voice of doom and gloom, but you may have destroyed your turbo! If not you took years off its life, turbo shafts spin at 80,000 RPM and up, even a quick trip down the street and back is to much with out oil pressure to the bearings! A word on turbo longevity,1)Never shut down a hot engine after a run, there will be no oil pressure and the turbo will still be spining. 2)After you change you oil, unhook the coil and spin the motor over to get oil to the turbo before starting the car.3)Let your turbo warm up a bit befor you make boost. 4) Always break a new turbo in for 500 miles befor trying any serious boost(this does not apply to used salvage yard turbos). I hope your turbo is ok.

i dont know if i mentioned this... but i just drove it for what seemed like 15 secs.... pushed it out on to the street.... turned it on... and took off... then i turned the engine off and cruised it up the driveway and into the garage... the turbo didnt get hot or anything....

Now, form what I have read, this doesn't nessasarily apply to oil AND water cooled turbos. From what I have read, the heat from the water keeps it circulating even when the engine is off, thus still cooling the bearings.

Anyone else heard this?
