Yea, I figured the current intercooler will be good for short runs and about 8 lbs. I remove the rain guard to open up the vent in the engine lid. The intercooler sits directly below the vent. Here's the vent if you're not familiar.



The SC cars probably make more heat and have a smaller IC. They can run all day without damage. Although it does get warm.

After I get the megasquirt in and I'm happy with everything I'll probably switch to a 14B turbo and go with a W2A intercooler like this.



Does anybody have experience with the ebay W2A intercoolers?

 

My friend Jim (known as Node in the Mr2 world) ran a W2A ebay special on his 3.4L 5VZ turbo mk2 mr2 for a long time with absolutely no problems at all. My brother uses an St205 top-mount W2A on his mr2, putting 400 to the ground with no issues. They arent better for a street car, but for an MR2 they work just fine, if you dont want to cut your trunk up.
