Ok, first question, why is there two oil feed lines??? I can just plug one of them up can't I? Or would I need to split the oil line into both of those?

Second question, why is there an empty hole? Was there some kind of sensor in there?

Third, to fill up that extra open hole, what should I use to plug it up?

BTW, this is a WRX '02 TD04L-13G. Got it for $90 shipped. :P Not the best turbo but it'll work. (I already have the flanges that's why i wanted to use this turbo...cheaper costs).

If that was the case, then that means there's two seperate chambers? Would I want to run oil through both feed holes and drain out the oil from both return holes?

why not make it easy. hook both lines back up, and blow thru one of them. if the air comes out the other.. they are connected. (there should be no reason to actually have to oil supply lines..... more likely, it's one in, and one out.)

The side lines are going to be for water cooling, it's just that the fitting isn't screwed into it.

I'm also using the same turbo and all the lines are confusing me. Does it matter which oil line i use as a feed and return? As long as the feeds on top and return on the bottom. I would appreciate it if anyone could clear this up.

I'm pretty sure you can't plug up the water lines on the side. Correct me if i'm wrong but this is how the turbo is cooled right.

You can actually run the turbo with out any water cooling. The major reason for the water cooling, is to prevent coking of the bearings. If you use good oil (quality full synthetic, Turbo Grade), and some common sense (don't run full boost, and then shut it off 10 seconds later, you can do without water cooling your turbo. (I've pulled 2 garret t-03's .69/.60's off of two different 1986 Mercury XR-7 5-speeds, and one had water cooling, and the other didn't.

::)most modern turbos are oil and water cooled.

most modern people are lazy and/or hate a messy set up.

the turbo will survive with just oil flowing through it.

however, it takes longer run down times (turbo timer)to

cool the turbo and the turbo life is slightly shortened (nothing major)

run a turbo on just water however and it wil DIE DIE DIE ::)

wow i never knew that turbo was that small. I thought it was bigger. Having driven the WRX i thought it had a good amount of lag and spooling kinda high for such a small turbo... what do u guys think?
