My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

yep at 7:30 pm central time the BmC Racing beast is alive. i will put some pictures on here tomarrow to show yall the full setup. but till then i will just tell you everything that is in it.

1993 Honda Civic Ex Coupe (lightended up 400lbs)

b18c1 engine

custom equal length manifold me and my dad

skunk2 intake manifold

custom cold ram air intake for the turbo

custom garrett bar and plate intercooler core dimensions 26 in long 10 in tall 3 in thick

uberdata powering 450cc injectors

cluthmasters stage 5 clutch and act 8.8lbs flywheel going in next week

stealthmodes awsome oil line kit

down2turbo (ebay seller) garrett t3 t4 sizes are exhaust: 48ar stage 3 wheel, compressor:57 trim compressor wheel and 50ar intake housing (going to be upgraded to 60 or 70 ar intake housing soon)

tial wastegate set at 9 lbs of boost

and all the misc crap. i cant wait for some track times, the butt dyno is estimating 300-350 whp and all i got to say is this thing wants to fly. in 2nd gear if you are going 3000rpm and just stomp on it, at 4000-5000rpm the car literly raises up 1-2 inches and just takes off as if it had F16 Fighting Falcon engine in it.

Re:It's Alive Again!

Wow, sounds awesome! Who did the Uberdata tuning for you? Yourself? Sounds like it's running awesome considering you havn't dyno'd it yet. Can't wait for the Pics. :)

Re:It's Alive Again!

of caurse i did my own uberdata programming, i have been messing with uberdata since the day it came out and i am pretty surei have what it takes to tune it on a dyno for real once i get my clutch, flywheel, and 300$ together for a 3 hour long dyno tuning session.

good job James...(and Sam)I will have to swing by and check it out...so im guessing the welding was good on the intercooler...

Re:It's Alive Again!

nice man. now for the pictures

sgoertz 03-21-2004 03:03 PM

Re:It's Alive Again!

the welding on the intercooler was not done by me and the welds are not what is called pretty, they are however functional and that is what counts. for 40$ to completely reweld the endtanks i think they are plenty good.

Re:It's Alive Again!

ok here are the pictures i promised.

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/bmc%20car%203.JPG

man o man i need to get my new clutch in there, it slips so bad at 3rd gear, if you are doing 2000rpm and flore it, once 4500-5500 comes in and you get full boost, the rpms just shoot up to 8200 as if you were in nuetral with a 6lbs flywheel. although this could have been the tires spinning because it smelt like burnt rubber. i am running 9 lbs of boost and butt dyno says mid to high 300s(without nitrous). next weekend if all goes well i will be installing my new clutch and flywheel and hopefully week after i will go to the track.

Nice!...but am I the only one running the breather line from the valve cover to the intake side of the compressor?Wont it harm your engine in the long run to just run a breather filter?

Hi, this is Sam....next time you are at a car show with all the older motors (pre-smog) check out thier crankcase ventilation...[Atmosphere] and even many newer cars have a filter inside the filter box for the ventilation. I will admit that you may be a tad more legal in CA. Actually I ran into a Pro-Stock recently using a vacuum pump to pull a vacuum in the crankcase. I ask about it and was told it was good for a few extra ponies.

BTW...James did most of this work himself...THAT'S MY BOY!!!...now next time he takes on an SVT Cobra at the track, I'll bet money he will lead him after the 1/8 mile. And shame on the GT that he lead the whole track and finished first by about 5 lengths...it wouldn't even be funny now. You go boy!

-Sam

looks good. good luck with this setup. i hope u reach your goal. and i want to see some dyno footage. ill be expecting it haha. does it have a bov? didnt see one in the pics.

Re:It's Alive Again!

Looks awesome man. Thats some badass power in a civic. I wanna see some track times it that badboy. BTW, have you finished my mani. yet, I know youv'e been busy but was just wondering.

sgoertz 03-23-2004 03:44 PM

Re:It's Alive Again!

yes it has a bov, you cant see it because i mouted it on the pipe going from the turbo to the intercooler, it is hidden literlay inside the drivers side wheel wail. makes it loud to people out side the car and not such an anyoance inside the car. the bov is the mitsu dsm 1 bov. and yes i have confirmed that even though the clutch is stock, it will just spin the tires in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. I am positive when i put in my new clutch that it has the power to do it in forth gear also. man it sure is awsome when you are in 3rd gear and someone is looking over at your car and you just floor it and smoke comes boiling out from the tires while you are going 60-80mph

which manifold is it that you are ordering again? i really wish yall people, when yall email me, would please say who you are on homemadeturbo also, because yall's email is almost never your name on homemadeturbo which makes it very hard to comunicate with yall. lol listen to my texas accient (yall).

I'm a dumbass, I ordered the t-25 with the downpipe. My email is MYJUNKISTIGHT@AOL.com

BmC are you still in TX if so where at ?? im in OKC.

sgoertz 03-24-2004 05:39 PM

Re:It's Alive Again!

yes your manifold is almost done, and i live in houston texas. i just got done doing some dyno runs with my gtech pro and well here are some pics for yall d series guys with 9 lbs of boost to envy at
http://www.newbieforces.com/files/98...c%20racing.jpg
my clutch started slipping real bad at 6500 rpm and as you can tell the dyno starts to go down there, after i relized it was slipping i let off of it that is why it doesnt go all the way up to 8200rpm rember this is the intercooler yall said wouldnt work worth a crap, the t3t4e turbocharger down2turbo sells on ebay, my custom manifold and piping, stock clutch, stock engine, skunk2 mani, 3" open downpipe, tial wastegate and open dump tube, dsm 1 mitsu bov, and unorthodox underdrive pullies. this run was done in 3rd gear and these numbers are with all possible parasitic drags (ex: wind resestance, rode conditions, etc). after the math is done to make up for the power lost from wind resistance and all the max power is 435 wheel hp.

I think I'm having displacement envy now hah... Much Props man! Hows that down2turbo turbo working for you man? I got a T3 from him and have yet to install it... but it looks good to me...

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

am i thinking wrong or in those pics doesn't the timing look too advanced???

sgoertz 03-24-2004 06:01 PM

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

that turbo from him is SWEET, best dang 420$ i ever spent. pulls extremely strong all the way to redline. i know yall are going to be saying this cant be the power out of a stock gsr, but the thing is, i bought the gsr engine last summer and put it in, we never took off the head and inspected it to see what all was in it, my gtec would say 210whp when it was all motor and we once took off the valve cover to check out the cams and they looked to be brand new. so for all we know this could be a 11.5 - 1 comp ration with awsome cams in it already. and the injectors and management i am using is uberdata, the injectors are (from what i was told) 450cc injectors, i know they are not dsm's and they flow extremely rich to be 450's but i got them from a guy on ebay who really didnt know what they were and said he was told they were 450s. i will go take some pics of them so maybe yall can help me identify what they are.

sgoertz 03-24-2004 06:02 PM

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

it does not ping at all so i guess the timing isnt advanced to much. it never runs lean either

Dr.Boost 03-24-2004 06:04 PM

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

I'm sorry, but that "dyno" run is complete BS. I don't doubt that you are making that power, but I am. :-\

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

well that is straight off the gtech, i didnt touch it at all with any programs and like i said the engine when we got it did a 210 whp dyno with gtech and ran mid 14's when we were keeping traction at the track(without no2)

B16Drag 03-24-2004 06:08 PM

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

I dont know how good the G-Tech Pro is good at estimating HP and Torque.. If I were you'd take it to a real dyno place. My bro has the G-Tech Pro but he hasnt really used it either... not sure how good it is though. But if your dyno numbers fall right on then SH!T more power to you! haha =)

sgoertz 03-24-2004 06:10 PM

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

i was saying the track times of when we swapped in the engine because normal civic coupes with bone stock gsrs run mid 15's and low 15's

sgoertz 03-24-2004 06:11 PM

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

gtech themselves claim to be within plus or minus 1% of accuracy of a real dyno.

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

I think your g-tech might not be that off if you did run mid-14's at the track... Being who I am, I'm just a tad skeptical but like I said one way to find out... DYNO heh even then its not perfect haha =) G-tech is a good tool though.

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

yes it plugs into your cigarrett lighter but rember it gets its power readings by how many g's you apply to it in a given amount of time. in 3rd gear, befor my clutch started slipping i was pulling .600 geforces. the only thing that gtech gets out of the cigaret lighter plug is the rpm, and the electrical power to run it. it has built in geforce meters to do the rest.

sgoertz 03-24-2004 06:19 PM

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

my new clutch and flywheel should be going in this weekend so after i brake them in i will go to a real dyno and find out what happens.

and one more update, this is the new gtech pro competetion v2, it is supposed to be a LOT more accurate then any of the other models ever made here is a link to the model i have http://www.gtechpro.com/

draztik 03-24-2004 06:33 PM

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

---- the g-techs and the g-tech pro's.. they all blow my left nut... they are all wayy off compared to at the track... yes if you take it to the track and race it'll be close cuz thats on the same type of road, same road conditions, same elevation.. too many factors to lead to why the g-tech is GAY. nuff said about g-tech!!!! i hate it with a passion.

oh yeah my bone stock 92 accord lx 5spd had 180whp according to the g-tech, ROFL!!!

draztik 03-24-2004 06:37 PM

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

sorry BmC, not hating on you or your car just on the g-techs ;D

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

well, i dont completely turst the gtech either but right now that is all i got. i do know however that not many civics can completely spin the tires in 1-4th gear and that mine can. i also know that i blew away a 3000gt twin turbo 16lbsof boost yesterday by 6-10 cars. so yall dont have to believe my gtech but i am telling the truth about blowing away the mitsu, and i know for a fact that that 3000gt usually runs mid to high 13's and i am still using my stock clutch.

Dr.Boost 03-24-2004 06:56 PM

Re:My new ride pics!!! and dyno pics!!!

Well, it's physically impossible. 450cc injectors are not good to 435whp. Unless you are running like 120 pounds of fuel pressure at 100% duty cycle you are not making that much power. To add insult to injury, this is all on a stock motor. :-\

How does a 435whp car run a 15.48 and have a 3.72 60ft? Is that on steelies?

15.480 at 120mph is rediculous.

I'll eat my shoe if you supply some actual "DYNO" results showing you are throwing down 435whp. I'll also sell all my D series ---- and stock up on B series parts. ;)
