Very clean civic from the exterior I was pleasantly surprised, but where the engine bay pics?

arok22 04-27-2009 12:40 AM

I'll have to take a couple. I haven't had a chance to clean it up the engine bay yet. Perhaps I'll post a before and after.

arok22 04-27-2009 12:54 AM

I went a took a pic of the engine. Couple other things, I have a chipped P28 on crome pro, AEM wideband, Autometer boost gauge in the pillar, HID conversion, lots of other suspension goodies etc.http://i653.photobucket.com/albums/u...ginebay001.jpg

opinions? Anyone swap to an LS motor with boost in their civic? What PSI and any HP numbers?

socalintegra 04-27-2009 03:59 PM

Nice car. Just my style. Subtle and not overly done. My buddy had an LS with a greddy kit in his EG. We never had any dyno pulls or time slips but the thing was fun as hell. Good value since the LS longblock we got was only 400 bucks and the greddy kit was a hand me down. He was running 12psi daily. The greddy kits downpipe was restrictive and the car wasnt tuned so Im sure the set up would have had a lot more potential.

socalintegra 04-27-2009 04:02 PM

oh ya what are you using for tuning? where did u buy that filter for your turbo also? im looking for one for my 14b

drift_ae86_91 04-27-2009 05:06 PM

Thats a beautiful looking coupe! Really tastefully done, nice :D

allmotordb1 04-27-2009 07:39 PM

you like the t25?

hatchdx-si 04-28-2009 08:35 AM

Arok nice car, if you have a lot of money get a B swap I guess....but you could build an awesome D series setup with that money.

Your wideband is a little too close to the cylinder head, it can overheat. It really should be placed after the turbo in the downpipe at least 12"s after the turbo

harry_civic1 04-28-2009 10:59 AM

bump

slow-ef9 04-28-2009 11:28 AM

I got my filter like that from o'reilly. good job for first time . my first turbo honda was a bitch

I have a chipped P28 running Crome Pro. It was tuned my English Racing in Camas, WA. The filter was purchased from Summit Racing. When I bought it the product was listed as summit brand on their website, but when I got it in the mail, summit filters are K&N's. Pleasantly surprised and fits on the turbo good.

I love it. It spools fast as hell! Spikes to 12psi between 3-4k because the wastegate can't keep up. When it was tuned they put a boost cut at 10 psi and I need to port the wastegate so I don't creep so bad below 4k. After 4k its all good. It holds solid 8 psi from 4k to red line. Its a great turbo for the single slam motor.

That is not my wideband. That is my factory o2 sensor which I need to move to the exhaust housing, just haven't done it yet. The Wideband o2 sensor is way back on the downpipe. I will eventually pop that factory o2 if I don't move it soon.

arok22 04-28-2009 12:06 PM

I have considered the B swap but I was talking with my buddy that works for Honda and trains all their techs on the west coast, in which I decided I could build a pretty nasty D-series for cheap. I know there are guys out there that make a ton of power with a modded D.

arok22 04-29-2009 08:35 PM

Bumpity bump! No more comments?

very clean
what intercooler are you using?

SilverSRT8Boostedz6 05-01-2009 09:39 AM

Sweet car with a real clean set up. I`m definitely feeling it.

RyAn007 05-02-2009 08:30 PM

Yea, that is a really clean car, great work in your project, any plans of going bigger?

CX Racing from Ebay dude. Pretty nice especially for the money. A lot of nissan guys run the CX Racing radiators and intercoolers and they like me, so I thought I would give them a try. Word! O0

I was considering a nasty D series build. Super cheap and blocks are a dime a dozen. I could build a very strong and powerful D series motor for the price of a GSR or B16 swap. Only swap I would probably consider would be the LS because they are super cheap, hold boost great stock and then slappin on like a Turbonetics 57 trim... something like that.

kona447 05-02-2009 08:46 PM

ya man cx racing has some decent ---- .. i got a cast t3 manifold off of them and its pretty legit

RyAn007 05-02-2009 08:47 PM

SOunds like a plan, I vote for a sleeved d series built and a turbonetics 57 trim at 25 pounds haha.

I have to say I've been very impressed. I got the intercooler and 2.5" powder coated black aluminum universal pipe kit (pipe is not cheap and is really thick stuff.. quality!) for only like $150 ish shipped. I have tons of pipe left for other projects and the company is super easy to work with. I ordered a kit and changed up some of the couplers etc and it was not a problem. Oh, this included the stainless t-bolt clamps, black couplers, intercooler with all kinds of mounting shhhhhtufff, and piping. NICE!!;D

Yeah.. bigger pistons, a little lower compression, sleeved, block guarded, and crank up the boost! 15- 20psi no probs eh!

RyAn007 05-02-2009 11:13 PM

Sleeved blocks are good for up to around 40 psi if its a good sleeve done well, as I am told and have witnessed/ rid in.

hard2obtain 05-03-2009 12:05 AM

I like it.

themadhatter 05-03-2009 12:43 AM

Very clean car man,maybe a little to clean.........lol J/k.

I never said the set up looked pretty! LOL. Obviously not may favorite manifold and turbo, and BOV. Its on a budget and certainly fast enough for a daily driver. I don't need tickets. My Mazdaspeed was fast and certainly a much prettier set up. Thanks lol

nelson8708 05-03-2009 06:51 PM

a buddy had a t25 on 13psi in a EK hatch and that car was fun. Uber clean

VQ30DE-KT 05-08-2009 02:01 AM

Clean ride. Nice setup. SOHC POWER!!!

malibutwinturbo 05-08-2009 06:42 AM

nice build, i'd drive it, the only change i'd do is the big ol' honkin muffler out back, get rid of that ---- & tuck an aero turbine up & out of the way

vitara pistons, custom fjt rods, stock sleeves, and no block gaurd and you car still run easily 20psi. those stock sleeves are good for 400+hp. all you need is vitaras and those rods from fjt and you have yourself a block that can handle 400hp. no need to sleeve it unless your going for a 500hp drag car. even with 400 you wont be able to daily drive it

Thanks for the input. I don't know much about vitaras, heard good stuff about em, but I was checking into em because I'm going to start looking for a new block this week to build a new motor. I want to have a motor ready to go in when I blow this one unless the new motor is done first. I want to build a solid and reliable daily D that can take the juice when I give it to her. 300hp would kick ass for moppin' up on the STI's, Mazdaspeeds, and most stocky evo's. We'll see what happens. I know that I am going to build a D... and soon.

SFaccord 05-10-2009 09:14 PM

simply clean

qr25_nissan_ser 05-19-2009 12:53 AM

How quick does that turbo spool with this set up
