Got the ----- running today. Just got back from driving it around for an hour. Runs great. Can't wait to finish breaking this thing in so I can crank the boost and the rev limit and start laying some dirty 2nds

 

is that holset in? how are you gonna do the VNT?

Did a little work on the old manifold today I just have a little more welding to do on it and then put it in the car. I have it mocked up on the SOHC right now but It should fit fine on the ZC. Hoping to put it in this weekend. The old log manifold was one I made a long time ago and jacked the cut up on. I am just going to weld it back up and call it a day

I'm just hoping the ZC will spool this bad boy The exhaust housing is so much bigger because of the VGTs I think. Will see how it does this weekend.

 

still using the stepper motor for the vanes I take it then? Im curious to see how this bad boy reacts on the small motor...

 

Gonna try to. I have been busy with some other projects so it hasn't made it to much pass drawing up the schemantic yet. For now, I am just going to hook up a wastegate actuator to it. But I really want to get the actuator working if we can. Either way, I really just want to get rid of the panzy Saab turbo.

 

You should read the last few posts in my build thread. There have been some posts about the electric motor in the actuator. They say that it is a 3 phase motor, rather than a stepper. That will change the circuit you need to drive it.
