I just found it amusing that you named it like a woman would. 'coupler thing' lol! There is no turbo fluid incase you didnt know that

 

how many times have you guys mis-diagnosed the problem.... its the muffler bearings

 

yeah i couldnt think of the name of it. well i he got pissed off and has decided to swap the ls into his eg hatch. i told him that everyone on hmt told him to tuck in his tampon string and tighten it down like a man.

my best result always came from painting the pipes

paint = sticky

I never blew pipes.

 

Mix up a huge batch of JB weld and cover the pipes with it then put the coupler on and tighten the clamps, with the left over JB cover over the top of the couplers and pipes too

 

hair spray. can hold pipes without clamps

 

i used and adjustable wrench to bell the ends of the pipe a little bit. only needed to do it to the 2 pipes closest to the turbo outlet.

 

there are actually tears all the way around the coupler. so it isnt just coming off its actually ripping in half

 

loose the home depot couplers for anything close to the turbo. They get all hot and deform/tear/swell

 

its probably the binder rotor shaft, when those things ---- up the rebostat sends fucked up signals to your carb computer and everything starts to rip and come apart..... if you dont watch it your floorboards will sometimes even fall off :P
