hmmm actually sounds like the bov's in NFS Underground....I'm rice

 

Do all BOV give out one blast or are there some that give out 3-4 blast? My BOV has a flat top with a barb for the hose that can be tightened or loosened. Inside it has a piston that moves up toward the cap with the hose on it, and it has 6 holes on the bottom for the exits. It has a spring inside pushing the piston down. I cut out a wind on the spring and have the BOV set as loose as possible without leaking pressure. Are all BOVs supposed to just give one blast or is mine a real shitty BOV. thanks in advance.

 

Mine lets out a loud "running over a bird" screech, then a light flutter. It's an HKS SSQV though, and that's how it's designed to work. I would try finding someone else with the same BOV as you and ask them?

 

i have that cheap ebay bov and i cut 2 coils out of the spring and it sounds really nice, doesnt flutter at all. im running 10-12 psi and even at 1 or 2 psi it is loud and sounds really clean

 

thatnks got boost & everyone else. I'm gonna try cutting off another coil to see if it helps.

Take off your BOV then

 

No more flutering sound. I cut off 2 coils on the spring & barely tightened the BOV. Problem solved

 

did yours come with a little screw on whistle horn? mine did and when i would let off throttle before spool it sounded exactly like an old man snoring.
