My BOV gives off 4-5 blasts instead of just one big blast. Why?

I bought a Typhon BOV on ebay. Polished aluminoum with 6 blow holes & it has a flat nut shaped top that tightens with a barb on top for a hose. Could the BOV be too loose?
I haven't had too much time to mess with it. Anyone seen this kind of BOV? thanks in advance.

Sounds more like it's too stiff.

Can u go into more detail as when this problem is happening? Are you experiencing it only when vac pressure is changed (from u taking your foot off the acceleration pedal)? What RPMs and such?
