is it abnormal for the snap rings to be easy to install?? mine only took a few mins, i pushed them in by hand too, they popped right in without giving me a hard time at all

I have no idea. This was the first time I've had to deal with the spiral locks. If you were working with snap rings it may have been different.

in short, yes.

you need to use snap ring pliers or some ground down needle nose. if you're pushing them in by hand they may come loose later on down the road :S

snaprings are cheap, much cheaper than the damage worn out ones can cause

Been at it since 10am this morning and the motors in and all connections are done except the vtec wiring. All thats left in the engine compartment is. Vtec wiring harness, axles, turbo, intercooler pipes, valve cover and oil in motor and transmission.

At 10 this morning

A hour later.

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...r/DSCF2214.jpg

Installing a motor by yourself is hard. I bent the shift linkage.

My battery relocation.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...r/DSCF2211.jpg

The interior is another story. I still have the cluster wiring to do and I also have to tie the engine harness into this mess of a wire tuck I did. I really need to clean this up.

90crxowner 03-07-2009 07:12 PM

Only annoying thing I heard in that video was my friend studering over and over again.

Tacos 03-07-2009 07:53 PM

Looks good! Congrats on the build, now dyno and tuning!

90crxowner 03-07-2009 08:15 PM

yep thats the plan. unfortanlly it my be a few months before I can save up enogh to get it retuned.

Tacos 03-07-2009 08:17 PM

What was your goals when you started the build?

90crxowner 03-07-2009 08:25 PM

When I first started, it was just to have a boosted car again. I was looking for around 150+HP. and I got that. This rebuild was done due to the motor eating up some bearings. Now I want 250+HP.

Tacos 03-07-2009 08:27 PM

What fuel pump and size lines are you running?

90crxowner 03-07-2009 08:31 PM

stock lines and a webro 255 pump.

Tacos 03-07-2009 08:41 PM

Bottom end stock? And still with 10lbs?

90crxowner 03-07-2009 08:54 PM

Setup as of today.

stock crank
ACL brearings
SCAT H beam rods
ARP rod bolts
JE 9: 1 forged pistions
JE rings
ARP head studs
every gasket and seal is new from top to bottom

75MM TB
port matched z6 intake manifold
port and polished head (intake and exhaust)
stock cam
stock valve tran

TD05 14B at 10psi
ported HF manifold with HF to TD05 adapter
DSM 450cc injectors
B&M fuel pressure regulator
webro 255 fuel pump

tuned on chrome pro (stock internals at 10psi)

I will be installing a better down pipe, tubular manifold and a 16G later on. Probley upgrade the injectors later also.

Tacos 03-07-2009 08:55 PM

What size exhaust?

90crxowner 03-07-2009 09:10 PM

2.5 downpipe to 2.5 pipe. 2' summit racing glass pack(soon to be cut out it sits 2" off the road) to a flowmaster axle back.

Tacos 03-07-2009 09:14 PM

Need to get 1 size, 3" is a great size. The larger you can go the better.

I'd do like a 3" downpipe, add in an electric cut-out and then run the "street" exhaust 2.5" to the bumper.

90crxowner 03-07-2009 09:32 PM

I was thinking about doing a 3" down pipe and a E cut-out on it. I love the stock sounding and looking flowmaster axle back to. Once I get the traction bar I going to build a bigger down pipe.

Tacos 03-07-2009 09:37 PM

I'd go with it, keep the Flow. I think it looks great and probably sounds great. But with the work youve got into the engine, don't kill it by choking the turbo with its exhaust. 3" and Cutout gets my vote.

90crxowner 03-07-2009 09:38 PM

sounds good to me.

CXyD 03-07-2009 09:39 PM

Where is your thread?

I agree, this is a great build thread.

90crxowner 03-07-2009 09:43 PM

thanks

90crxowner 03-10-2009 10:06 PM

This integra cluster is pissing me off so bad right now. I can't get the damn speedo to work and I have no ideal why. Going to get another VSS tomorrow and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't I'm going to go over all the wires wire by wire and if I still cant get it to work I'm putting the CRX one back in.

Jborn 03-13-2009 09:30 PM

car looks really good. I like the paint, and motor alike. Took alot of time
and work im sure.
I currently am working on my 88 CRX HF.
its been dub'd the name Rust Bucket from a few friends. It was donated to me
with 82,xxx miles from a friend whom lived in NW, Indiana. RUST HEAVEN!

90crxowner 03-13-2009 09:53 PM

Sounds good my friend has a white HF that we swapped a D16Z6 into and that thing will fly.

I got the integra cluster working 100% today. Then drove it all over the place. I also waxed the hood and it look OK the clear coat is starting to die.

90crxowner 03-15-2009 10:21 PM

I got a free d16z6 and a hydro 5 speed transmission today. I took the Z6 apart to see what was wrong with the #2 rod and here is what I found.
Notice no bearing
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...rodnotgood.jpg
O here it is on top the other bearing.
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...ingnotgood.jpg
Then theirs this little problem.

moparfwdsleeper 03-15-2009 10:53 PM

90crxowner 03-18-2009 08:44 PM

update

Its been running good but still smoking. I think the smoking is getting worse but I don't know what to do yet. I've only got 400miles on it and it only smokes when its idling. Going to pull the turbo off and put the stock header on with my friends stock ECU and see if its the turbo smoking.

Heres a few videos from yesterday. I broke the exhaust on a speed bump so I pulled it off to fix it and went for a ride with the open dump tube. Sounds great but its loud. Also the open exhaust is messing with the tune and making it run lean so none of the videos go over 1/2 throttle.

arok22 04-04-2009 03:34 PM

I love the crx. What are you running for your tuning?

90crxowner 04-04-2009 03:36 PM

p28 ecu tuned with chrome pro.
