use that JAW yet? i just ordered one |
Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
It really doesent need much to clear. I used the crank to check clearances. I will post up a quick video writeup on notching in car soon. Have had this build going on forever cause I have been taking my sweet time on it. came out nice and runs great so far. Now I need to mount the coola and get the rest of the piping done.

Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
Ahhh, sweet dump tube. What did you use to notch the block. I'm sure it's fine and all, but that looks not notched enough, but I'm sure camera angles are decieving. Little bit of EJ8 love. I dig, brother......I dig. O0 Get a hone in that or just start throwing them in? Just curious because a mild build like this looks fun for 275whp and some 12sec passes on streets. One other thing, let me think....oh yea, the oil pump on Y8's kinda suck and have been known to cause oil starvation or atleast there is a threat of it.

Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
Thank you man thank you. Yeah the pics of the notching are very shitty. They are notched alot more than it looks. Also the Girdle will have to be notched as well ladies!! I did hone out the cylinders a bit though.. After I took the pics I posted.

Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
I want to know how long the ching chang meow turbo holds up. How much was it, $200? Get it straight from ssautopoop's new web site?
|
Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
The car looks great.
The piping and manifold look like ebay specials.. Did you cut out the bumper support or running without it? |

Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
those Home depot couplers are going to explode :-X Setups looking good :y
|
Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
you know, taking the engine out would have made that 100x's easier ;)
|
Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
^^^Im sure it would have but I didnt have the money nor desire to remove the engine.. Yes it would of been a 10 minute job, 30 minutes taking the time to notch..
Me on the other hand did it in 3 hours because of the cleaning of everything with shavings.. Block stayed in car. I hope those couplers dont blow but if they do I will just learn my lesson and buy a 18 dollar a piece coupler instead of the 7.50 lowes pvc coupler. |
Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
Intercooler almost invisible.
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...e/DSCN1111.jpg Water got on my cdm manifold and turbo when I washed it.. My chang ---- loves water. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...e/DSCN1117.jpg Yeah the rims are temporary. The paint was x100 better than the original bling bling chrome. Look at the offset! http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...e/DSCN1114.jpg |
Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
Other than the hood gap, hacked up front bumper, cracked rear bumper, ricey wing, dinged up door, spray painted rims, Rusted up Boost Creep manifold, Chingaling Turbo, and JDM license plate mount the car looks good.
Or maybe all those things are why the car is so awesome. :y |
Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
^^^ lol. Looks good to me

Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.

Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
I love the matt black cooler look. You did a good job to fit it in.
Sleeper ownage. :6 |
Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
Its Radiator Paint on the intercooler. That ---- looks ------- great. On the valve cover its a high temp paint. I should of used high temp primer on the cover then hit it with some radiator paint as well. The only thing I dont like about it is that it takes about a day to fully cure.. Until then you can still leave finger prints on it.

Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.

Anyhow I was looking for the pics of you notching your block with no avail, do you think you can provide a link? |
Re: My 2nd HMT Setup.
Wow thats pretty nuts. My boys over in china are new with rods, hence the problem. but yeah your cdm rods are good for 1000hp easy. Take them to a shop and see what they can do.

With my ebay rods, the big end (or the crank end) of the rods is so large that it does not fit into the bore. The rod itself needs to be ground down to minimize its width.
