IS THERE ANYWAY TO SAVE THAT TURBO WELD IT OR SOMETHNIG i'm not willin' to pay another grand for a turbo i'm selling the car soon so i need a cheap fix if anybody has any suggestions please posttt thnx |
Re: my 1200 bucks turbonetics shaft snapped
um, know that it is realy bad for you turbo to run it without it being attached to the intake system :y, looks like it time to buy another turbo, our source another shaft

Re: my 1200 bucks turbonetics shaft snapped
Wait. So you have enough money for a $1200 turbo, but not for an intercooler? What did you do, just leave that part of the turbo open?

Re: my 1200 bucks turbonetics shaft snapped
sounds like oil starvation
|
Re: my 1200 bucks turbonetics shaft snapped
oil is good and there is no sign of starvation
|
Re: my 1200 bucks turbonetics shaft snapped
just replace it, and next time put the pipe on the turbo.

Re: my 1200 bucks turbonetics shaft snapped
Leaving the WG open your turbo will still spool, especially at high RPMs. With the flapper on my legacy turbo completely removed I was still able to make 4 PSI at redline. Take your turbo to a rebuild shop. You should be able to get it fixed and re-balanced for about $350.

Re: my 1200 bucks turbonetics shaft snapped
if it is a ball bearing turbo your pretty much SOL. most turbo shops do not have the ability to rebuild those units. your probably better off getting the same size cartrage but in journal bearing style. thats still going to set you back though. let me know what size turbine wheel it had and I can give you a price if you like.
