Moving center section

I removed the exhaust housing so I could try moving the center section where the oil lines go. After having this done I still couldnt move it, I found that there a big ring in the intake housing. So how do I move the center section on a TDO4L?

ok bolts all out. hold the cold side and wack the exhaust housing with a hammer. (BE OVER A BENCH DONT DROP IT!)

also it may have a dowel pin, just grind that off.

Re:Moving center section

You just turn the damn center section and put it back in the turbine housing where you want the oil lines to stick out....If you want to rotate it seperately from the compressor housing to, you will need to take the compressor housing off.
And about the internal wastegate..well you will need to allign the compressor housing with the turbine housing for that...so that will require to take bot of the bearing/center section housing.

I think he means he has no idea how to get the snap ring out so that it's not holding the center section in place anymore? right? if that's the case just get some needle nose pliers and stick in the two holes on the sides of the ring and pull it together and up and out then you'll be able to rotate the center chunk freely. and yeah, either pull out the locator dowel or grind it down.

Yeah, stackz hit the nail. I cant rotate the center section because of that huge snap ring. So removing these, I could rotate the center section right?

yeah but that snap ring won't come easy and you'll probably have to "persuade" the housing loose first so you can grind down the locator dowel to move it how you want it
