Re: Most quiet catback turbo exhuast?
Custom. I have 2 Dynomax Race mufflers (pretty much resonators) and a Summit brand Turbo Muffler (looks stock and was 19.99). My car is quiet around town, sounds beautiful when I'm on it, 3", and looks stock.

im running custom 3" back to a 3" magnaflow straight through. it was realllly quite when i first got it but i think running slightly rich has plugged some of the sound deadening material in the muffler because it seems louder.
was cheap, and looks great, stock like

Do you guys think running 2.5" open dp will be alright? (t3 60/63 on a b18b)
I love the sound of open downpipe and hearing the spool, but don't know if it will be too much? I don't have first hand experience driving a car with open downpipe. Will I get sick (literally)? I don't want to fall asleep behind the wheel
I was thinking about running it for a while. Just the look on peoples faces is priceless when they hear it. But I don't want to be so obnoxious neither.
I was also thinking about having it 2.5" open downpipe, and then removing the cat, but having the rest of the piping all the way towards the rear of the car with the stock muffler, just for like a bit of a sleeper look, and to throw people off, but when I step on it people be like damn

Open dp is cool for a few days, then the fumes will make you sick to your stomach and your head will want to explode from the loud droning sound. If you still want to hear the turbo spool but make it bearable, make your exhaust piping as straight as possible out the back. I took mine straight from the flex joint straight back...under the gas tank, slight bend under the rear control arm, and right out the back. Just be sure you have enough clearance so you don't rip it off on every bump. :P

Cool man, thanks. I guess your right, I might just do that instead. I'm just worried about getting sick, especially from exhaust fumes, its a nasty sick feeling. Probably like your smoking 5 cigarettes at once, and then you get that lightheaded feeling, and then you start feeling all hot, and kind of sick to your stomach like your about to throw up huh?
I think 2.5" straight back wouldn't be a bad idea also. Probably give it a mean look from behind having no muffler, and just a round piece of 2.5" piping. Cheaper too than having to buy an exhaust kit, and muffler which could cost about anywhere up to 400 bucks depending on what kit etc.
Do you know of a place I can get hangers? Or could I just cut my old ones off stock piping and weld it on the mild steel piping?
