More turbo BMW updates

1/2" studs good to go (stock 10mm) (ignore rusty block - i have to have it bored out and then i'll be powder coating it again) http://blowneuroz.com/525/Machining/headmachined3.jpg close fit http://blowneuroz.com/525/Parts/partsshelf1.jpg Some of my parts http://blowneuroz.com/525/Parts/pistons2.jpg Some stuff that came today :) So according to my ------sheed I have made (I can post it if you guys want, I have it in html format), I only have $120 or something left of parts. It's been a long, almost disturbing voyage of spending money hand over fist, but I am doing this build all-out and I do not want to look back and say "I wish I did ___ differently." It hasn't been the cheapest endeavor, but it is HOME MADE! I am building the setup - I built the manifold, etc., built hte MS ECU (until the new MS2 Sequencer comes out!!!!!! so excited) and yeah, I am just enjoying the project! Thanks guys! Jon |

Do they not make studs in a size that fits your block or did you just want to use larger ones?

Re: More turbo BMW updates
a local dyno shop tested the a1000 pump to see its true rating(they say what 1000-1200hp?) it flowed barely enough for 650. I would have ran with Product Engineering, Magna Fuel , or Weldon in no particular order seeing how you shelved the cash out anyways. Probably the most hated pump on the power tour I might add.
Either than that, ---- looks sweet. |

Everyones got their opinions. I know several people making big hp on this pump.

your steering wheel is pretty badass. How much with the shifter? |

The Wheel/shifter are logitech G25 setup I think its like $250 - $300 as a kti comes with pedals with a clutch. heres from today http://www.blowneuroz.com/525/Progress/bay1.jpg The upper rad support unbolts, the lower one was cut out :) |

Either than that, ---- looks sweet. hmm, thats funny, because i know of more then one setups locally making over 800 WHP on the a1000. Its just killer when you start getting above 80psi. |

So, I know you used to drive this car alot... are the plans to keep it as a weekend warrior now? Or are you going to do what I want and drive it all the time? |

So, I might have a genuine TiAL 38mm w/ 8,7 psi spring for sale if anyone is interested

Crx, I dunno make a reasonable offer - after making my DP today I can't fit 2 wastegates. I'd like to get 150 for it as it hasn't been used much - I can snap a pic if you need. Updates
Made the downpipe yesterday before removing engine: http://blowneuroz.com/525/Progress/bay2.jpg http://blowneuroz.com/525/Fabrication/downpipe2.jpg Its out! http://blowneuroz.com/525/Progress/bay3.jpg http://blowneuroz.com/525/Progress/bay4.jpg Went relatively flawless today - pulled driveshaft, slave cylinder, removed more from up front (intake manifold and such) and then went under and undid the mounts and set up the cherry picker and she cam out the front nice and easy. I then separated the trans out of the bay. After pulling that lump out I took the grinder to any and all randomly placed studs that used to hold down crap I don't have any more. All the nitrous and wiring from the sides is now lifted up - going to try and hide as much as I can or at least mount it down lower where its not so ugly. Going to power wash the bay next weekend I hope, and then paint it, and then we swap the engine in when it's done. |
Re: More turbo BMW updates
God what a mess of wires and tubes and hoses.
That's why I'll always love really old vehicles. Good luck. |
