Default more d15b7 turbo questions

*ok since the search has not been working for me for 3 days now, i am forced to start a thread*

anyways, thinkin about doin a hmt kit on my brothers 163k mile d15b7. looking to keep it reliable and safe, probably around 150whp-ish. of course, the motor is and will remain all stock. what are the weak points? rods im sure, so where do they max out around? anything else i should be concerned/informed about?

i wish the search was working bc i know all this has been covered before. and dont think im a bitchassnoob bc im not, i just dont know much about these pos b7's.

rods on those things are weak as *****..... they look like they were made for a weed wacker...

but why bother asking, just boost it, B7 bottom ends are a dime a dozen and you can get them for free..hell i just gave one away...

how much hp do these tend to take a ---- on?

*EDIT*
and the reason for not "just boosting it" is bc he is 16. he doesnt have much money. and he doesnt have another car. not to mention its 25 degrees here and i really dont feel like doing over night motor swaps in this weather

no money equals home depot/junkyard ghetto turbo set ups.....

cold weather equals more time to get parts as you can afford each one....

I have seen b7's making 200whp.... and holding together.... but in my eyes they start getting sketchy after that

14b is the perfect "starter kit" for a d15. Just limit yourself to 6 or 8 psi max, as those turbo's are capable of alot more. IMHO best bang for the buck, and cheaper than hell to build these days.

why buy an FMU.... when you can tune with uberdata or crome for free.... just buy a chip and get a friend to burn it for you
