These are the units that everyone complains cause poor idling, right? Twin exit/spray pattern injectors, FWIW.

I had a car that ran pretty decent at cruise and under power, but would suck *** getting it to idle until you'd driven it for a minute. Then idle would be smooth at first and slowly start to break up with random pops and stutters until the car was driven again. It's my first time at bat with a Megasquirt, but no IACV should make it a nice cut and dry tweak of %VE in the idle region.

Is that pretty much how these things run on the Civics? I'm about to give this kid a spare set of 450cc because he richly ------- deserves them, his car is super clean and well laid out, but I don't want to come off of them if it's not going to fix the problem.



FYI, everything that isn't clean and minty fresh looking is everything that he hasn't gotten around to touching on the car. It's a really well sorted work in progress, no hood or fenders.

 

Just so you know, the 440cc's will do that ---- on stock turbo supras, much less whatever dudeman is running. I dunno how many ppl have asked me if i had any idle control motors for a mk3, and what they really needed was injectors cleaned...

The newest of those injectors is pushing 14years old.

Jim swears by em but I think their was even a TSB about the idle problem involving the injectors...
