Missing Link question..
I have had crazy mad conflict about this question so here goes...
Do I need to run a missing link if I am only boosting 5 pounds?I have heard yes and no...I have no management right now, as i just put the kit together.
Thanks

yes u do, if ur map sensor see's boost its gonna run like booty and check engine light will come on. if it see's any positive manifold pressure at all it will throw the check engine light. prolly not like 1-2 psi, but it will throw it at 5psi for sure.

No. The stock MAP sensor is good for about 10-12 PSI boost. Below that it won't throw a check engine light.
You do need some sort of fuel management if you want your engine to last. Be very carefuel while boosting because if the engine runs lean it will blow
. For 5 psi a 8:1 or 10:1 or 12:1 ratio FMU will be OK. Most people use the 12:1. More information is in the FAQ section. My $0.02.
the 2 cars ive turbo'd threw check engine light at even 5psi, i dont understand how it can hold 12psi if it's max is like 11.4 or some ----. if you peek'd that of course it'd throw a check engine light. if the map sensor see's any positive manifold pressure its deffinately gonna throw a check engine light. honda's aint made for it. why you think we reprogram it so instead it add's more fuel and such. it runs like ---- in positive manifold pressure with no check valves. i only boosted like a little and it was boggin out and threw check engine light right away.

the stock mapsensor is fine if you have a emanage, hondata, uberdata or some sort of engine management that will trick the ecu, but without that you will need either a missng link or check valves!
just run 2 check valves. take off the map sensor. shove or wedge a small plastic 4 way fitting where the map sensor goes. put a hose on the end of the 4 way plastic fitting and put short 2 inch rubber hoses on the 2 unussed fittings on the 4 way plastic vac.fitting and put the check valves in the 2 hoses. you don't need check valves or a missing link if you're using a vafc or uberdata, turbo edit, etc. and boosting under 12psi.
