It was an honest question. I have read at least a couple hundred posts on here and "none" of them explain exactly what a missing link is. They all explain why its needed however. I am fully aware of the need to hide boost. I was just asking if maybe the missing link did something other than hiding boost that makes it so much better than a few check valves from the pet store.
Also, if getting called bitch every time I ask a question is going to be the standard, then ban me. I won't fell to bad about it.
Thanks to you other guys for the answers.
There are only three things you need to know about the missing link:
1. All it does is hide boost from the MAP sensor.
2. It looks better than having multiple check valves in your engine bay.
3. It's more expensive than check valves.

Hope this help you.

I'm currently ammasing the parts for my HMT. I've got a very small but quick spooling TB0205 internal w/g off a nissan 300zx.(Late Eighties if your interested) A crap load of 2" exhaust piping for my charge line. 60$ Autometer boost gauge. I am designing my own electric BOV.(I'll let you know how that goes) I have ordered the missing link to tide me over untill I have the time and money for learning and actually chipping the ECU.
I am cramming all of this into my 97 Civic D16y7. I know I'm gonna get the you won't get much PSI talk but I'm only looking to bump up my torque a bit.
Thanks in advance.

A check valve (missing link included) evacuates some boost to the atmosphere so the MAP doesn'T see it. Usfull only with fuel management systems that are 100% independent of the honda fuel system, such as and additional injectors.
Any check valve is a very crude way to clip MAP.
The best thing (if really you need to prevent the ECU from seeing any boost) is an electronic boost clipping device that will cut the voltage of the MAP just below 1 psi (when the honda ECU triggers a safety cut off)
That way, no boost is evacuated to the atmosphere and you are sure the MAP reads Exactly like stock. PLus, it's maintenace free as opposed to the missing link on which the tiny dump hole has to be cleaned periodically.

Such MAP clipping device, luckily, is CHEAPER than the missing link. I know a company that is offering them for 50$.
