You're right. I guess the other 1000 people that have had issues with cometic gaskets in various applications ranging from 200-1500 hp should ask their sisters as well. Again, get a clue and remove yourself from the thread being as most of the time, including now, you don't have the slightest idea of what you're talking about. Big surprise to everyone here, I know.

Re: Might have blown headgasket. Help diagnose, lots of pics.
I ran a fel-pro last year @ 20 psi on my D16 with no issues.
I switched heads and put a cometic on because my buddy had one lying around. My head/block were machined flat when I put the Fel-pro on, but not when I put on the cometic. No isseues as of yet and it's been running for a few months now at 20 psi.
Do the Fel-Pro Cav MLS gaskets have that black sticky ---- on them? I think that stuff is enough to seal up any minor imperfections but if you're ---- is flat and torqued properly you shouldn't be popping HG's of any brand unless like mentioned you're running cardboard/fibre ones.

blah blah blah, you didn't know what you were doing when you put it in. cue the hotrex moment.
never had a problem with one, nor seen one where I could vouch for the installation.

Should of copper sprayed the ---- out of it, alot of people have problems with cometics in ls engines if they don't copper spray, even though cometic says it isn't needed.

I would just go out and run the felpro mls like stated before. Fire it up pust a tank of gas on the new hg, and then do a compression/leak down and see if you still have any problems. If not then on to more boost!!!!!

Cometics have been useless in my experience. My 97 dodge diesel (my previous truck) I had put one in with studs, had the head decked used copper spray, ect... blew it in 4 pieces, in two weeks. Put a stock HG in same prep, and had it last till I sold it 8 months later and as far as I know it is still working.
