Re:merkur XR4Ti
I had one along time ago, Me and beau pinched the wastegate line, It was probably peaking 20+ psi, lol
They are strong bottom ends, with a long stroke. (compressor is very friendly) The turbos themselves are one of the largest factory t3's

is that 20 psi, all stock, and daily driver? i need to find other "little" mods that i can do without going into the engine..more than maybe a cheap cam (i need this car as my daily driver while i build up my rex)

dude...are you serious bout this xr4ti car...cause i raced one the other day and i had him on the take off....he got ahead in second gear....once i hit third i slowly started getting ahead of him and 4th gear i rolled down my window and waved bye bye to him....he flipped me off at the next stop light. must have been a stock motor, cause i have an HF motor with an LS ECU on it.....i have bout as much power as a stock DX motor right now with the LS ECU.

Re:merkur XR4Ti
well, I own a 87 xr4ti that I ran 20psi non-intercooled on it and it did fine. Right now it is in the middle of a rebuild so that I can run up to 30psi on it. The 2.3 is a very strong engine and will forgive most mistakes. With what I have being done, highs 12s will be possible. I don't want to push it too much, becuase I still have the stock rear end. They are not full out great drag cars because of the IRS, but they make kick *** road racing cars.
