Default Melting vacumm line.

Hi guy's, as you know I've finished my turbo setup and decided to tune around with it since it's nice weather out. I got it to pull absolutely awesome at a steady 7 psi, but after a few pills I noticed that my wastegate has gotten so hot, it keeps melting the vacuum line that hooks up to it.
I've used fittings to make the vacuum line sit farther away from the wastegate, but it's still melting. What are you guy's using for lines that run close to the manifold or any heat source? I was thinking of trying some steel braid or something that won't melt, but I havn't looked much into it. Any help is appreciated.

is the nipple itself so hot that it is melting the hose attached to it, or does your vacuum line run close to the body of the wastegate?

It's more because the heat from the body of the wastegate is traveling up the fitting that the vacuum line connects to. It causes the line to get soft and fall off and if it does stay on vacuum just sucks it closed. I think I'll take a trip to the hardware store tomorrow and see if I can find anything that will hold up.

I'm not sure, but I know R/c cars use a gas line that is pretty much the same as a vacume line, it might hold up to higher temperatures, you could try that.

just get that hose heat shield ---- that is on r/c gas line, also usually around the o2 sensor wires.....

Nah it's just rubber vacuum line I picked up at a hardware store. These are all things i will take into consideration though. I'll see if I can find some of that shielding for RC car fuel line or some spare o2 sensor shielding .
