so i just put my mbc on today and now when i go full throttle my boost goes up to like 16psi and the wastegate is set at 7.5. i have the boost controller closed completly. and bought the mbc brand new. what could this be?

 

why is having it closed completly do that? i thought if you did that you would stay at your wastegate boost levle.

 

Haha you want it open the other way so there's almost no spring pressure on the ball. With it cranked down all the way it puts a lot of pressure on the ball, thus keeping it from depressing the spring and releasing air to the wastegate which would cause it to open. Pretty much what you did was unhook the wastegate.

 

i see. but when you open it doesnt the psi go up? or just to releve enough pressure.

 

so then do i fully open it? i thought when you open it the more you open the more boost?

 

Is it a ball seat type mbc or is it a bleed type mbc? I have a bleed style mbc and when it is closed all the way, its at whatever the wg spring is set at. When I crack it open it bleeds off some of the boost to outside air, insted of sending it all to the wg.

 

how do i know which one it is?

 

i havea turboxs mbc
