this may sound really retarded...but how do you polish a BOV for chrome finish?

Default this may sound really retarded...but how do you polish a BOV for chrome finish?

like the subject says... how do people polish pieces to make it really shine like chrome. ive seen a few polished 1g DSM BOVs and they are REALLY SHINY. i have a 1g DSM BOV but its all dull and black...

you use a buffer and polish, or your hand a towel and polish. I thought dsm bov's were plastic?

speaking of that. i just did mine today, it was a pain in the ***.

ok. so first i glass beaded the entire thing to get all the crap off. (if you cant do that, have fun sanding with 80 grit)

then i used 180 grit all over it, then 280 then 400 then 600.

put a spiral sewn buffing wheel on my angle grinder, and put some black wax on the buffing wheel and pressed dam hard, then i brought out the shine with a muslin non-spiral sewn wheel.

good luck, also remember the top part is steel, it will rust bloody fast keep it dry and warm!!

Here's a pic of mine when I started polishing it. Looks more shiny than that now. After usin' sandpaper, wet sanding, dremel, and metal polish

dood wait till you see mine. its so dam shiny, mmmm.
