#1 looks like the WG holes are threaded into the cast.....

So is your turbine housing, wastegate flapper, and downpipe.

but because its along the runner theres a good chance that if it cracks thats where its gonna be, especially if you over torque the bolts

Your comparing 2 pieces of ---- here. Both wastegate positions suck. The cast manifold is alot less of a douchebag design. Since the prces are the same I would pick the cast manifold over that log.

Even though the wastegate position does kinda suck on the first (cast) dsm looking one. Id go with the 1st. The log manifold's wastegate position doesn't look exactly in between all the runners either.

I would go with the first one. Better flow design and no hinderence at all like i can see in #2.
