Made a little progress on my turbo A20 setup!

Re: Made a little progress on my turbo A20 setup!
looks really good chris. Dont be afraid to notch the crossmember a bit to get downpipe clearance, as it is nearly impossible with the 3" DP unless you whitey bend the ---- out of it, and even then its wayyy tight, 2.5" barely fits. Im at a standstill right now, im still waiting for parts and my friends welder is down so instead of waiting for him, im just gonna buy my own in a few weeks to finish my manifold etc. The engine is at the machinist too. I bet your happy i talked you out of selling that ramhorn lol

haha I will let you know about that once I actually fit the dp.
I am pretty sure that 3" will never happen, but with 2.5" I think we will have a fighting chance.
I am hoping to have my parts together to build the downpipe by the 19th/20th of this month, and I will try to dial that in.

hard to tell from the picture, and the downpipe model, but if we used 3" tubing we would need a 1.75" CLR bend, which would have to be so tight it would hit the turbine housing on the way back. i mean that is just an insane bend for 3" pipe. lol... yeah i dont mind notching the lip off of the crossmember and denting the dp a bit, but my suspicion is that I will need to do these things just to fit the 2.5"
turbo placement is really a ----- in this situation...

Model was built in Solidworks... my mechanical engineer buddy built it for me after the 'flexible ducting' model that we built that 'fit'

that's awesome man. My buddy and I actually did a turbo A20 about a year and a half ago that thing was a blast. Only thing we had issues with was the engine management. Think you got the right idea though. Probably the strongest block honda has ever made right there. Cast iron semi-closed deck. Keep up the good work.
