Awesome build, looking forward to more progress, pics, and videos. Years ago a buddy of mine had an S-10 Blazer with a Vette motor in it. It was very fast. A tight fit if I recall correctly, no turbo on his.
Yes, it's a very tight fit for 2 reasons... serpentine system w/ the a/c compressor, frame is ussually notched (i'm not using), the other two clearances are by the firewall... the coil packs because it's not a distributor engine. It's coil on plug. You can either squeeze it in, or get coil plug extentions and extend the harness. the other issue is the Heater Box on the firewall of the passenger side. LUCKILY, my truck doesn't ahve a/c... therefore there's no heater box sticking out of the firewall, and it's kept flush. makes everything MUCH more spacious! Lastly, the space for the exhaust headers... i have some pics i'll post up of how close they fit.

No I don't think it's the black one on the internet. This was about 10 years ago, it was white. I supposed someone may have bought it and redid the whole thing. Don't recall if he had a/c or not. I remember the headers were fabbed in the vehicle and the tubing actually went around the frame. When you pulled the motor the headers stayed in, only way to get them out would be to cut them.

Well, never said it was an LS1, just said it was a vette motor. Not sure which one.
Watched that vid you linked to earlier. That little truck is going to be downright nasty! Love the sound. How's it coming, any more progress? |
Can't wait to see videos of this project when it's done. Good luck on the build.
