Default Looking to rotate housing...rusted bolts

I recently acquired a chrysler t3. i am looking to rotate the housing a bit and basically clean the turbo up a bit, but the bolts are rusted up pretty good, and fairly hard to get to. any ideas?

Soak the bolts in PB Blaster for a few hours. If they don't budge after that, take a propane torch and heat up the area around the bolt until it's glowing a bit then put a wrench on it with a good bit of torque, it should come out then. I broke off one of the bolts in my housing and had to buy a new housing. I tried drilling/Torching them out but it was no use after that, so try not to snap the head of the bolt

That's some pretty solid advice right there.

The metal has broken down from age, heat, water (rust) so the odds are against you. I used to have some stuff that was called like maybe HiLube (I can't remember) and it was hydralic lube, best ------- ---- in the world, worked on everything, I was able to even use it in place of engine assembly lube.. so I was rebuilding the top half of a 305 and knocked the can off the car, it got a puncture hole in it

I must have looked like a real idiot trying to cup the ---- in my hands, but it was no use. The liquid gold was gone and I'm not able to buy it anywhere, was giving to me by someone who stole it from their work, they said it cost like 20-30 a can.

If you do break a bolt, last resort could be a screw extractor set (bolt extractor) that is just a reveresed drill bit that brings the bolt out.

The beauty is in the details! Usually I’m referencing some good ideas, but this post was pretty much giving up love for that lube that I will probably never know again. R.I.P nameless badass Hydralic Lube.

I don’t think I’ll be doing any insane posting the next few days, a very recent logging accident has fucked up my right hand – even hurts to use the mouse. I haven’t even thought about how I’m gonna wack it.

At least the sandblaster doesn’t require both hands, think I’ll catch up on some rust blastin’ . Don't think I can get readily injured doing that.

(ahh ----, is that 3 paragrphs already, ---- you're right dude!)

haha, yeah, i called him out when he first started posting often, but as long as you have knowledgable(sp)information to share, 3 paragraphs is better than one.

i love how you're so gramatically correct that you actually break your post's down into actual paragraph's with proper indentation and all

as far as the bolts go, yeah, soak them in pb blaster or something of that nature. let them sit for a few hours and try to break them loose. keep repeating these steps and when you do get them loose, if they come out a little and get tight again, spray what threads you do have out and screw it back in and out working the lube in to the actual threads.

just take your time whatever you do, it may take letting them sit over night, but it will be a lot easier than shearing one (or more) off in the housing.

one last note, you only need to back the bolts out about half way, but you will notice a few of the bolts get backed up against parts on the center section (oil feed, water line connections if applicable). a lot of people say to bang the compressor down ward to pull it out some and free up some extra space to back the bolts out some more, but i found it easier to keep backing the bolts out and they will actually pry the center section off by them selves.

That's blasphemy.

PB Blaster is often imitated, never duplicated.

This is my third paragraph

i dont think anyone mentioned how to take care of ur hard to reach bolts, get a wrench and grind the outer part out so it will slide in and fit by the housing and onto the bolt, Otherwise the guys who are on here all day, i wont mention any names, covered it very well
