Stick welding off lincoln electric site:


Some limits of stick welding are:


Welding thin materials (less than 18-gauge steel) may be difficult or impossible.
Marginal for welding aluminum. It takes a high degree of operator skill to weld aluminum with the stick process.
You must clean the slag off the weld.
Stick is a slower process than MIG.

i just went to a metal shop and got him to cut me a certain size sheet of aluminum, i dont even know what thickness, i just used what looked right. and i had a machine shop weld it on using a low temp welder.

im in canada its like 35 bucks.

Shinning was probly achieved with hand sanding with all 10 grits working way to like 400 wet sand then buff on buffing wheel. about 2 hours of owrk and youll be there...

has anyone else used a audi 5000 and made new end tanks if so how much were they?
i do not have acess to a welder so i would have to take to a a shop what kind o shop should i go to?machine?
