If your after the lowest backpressure and don't care how loud the car is a forum is a good place to get info. If your concerned how a car sounds then a forum isn't a good place to get info. This is because hard to describe volume, pitch, and tone in a way thats usefull for you to judge. Also whats good as far as volume, pitch, and tone is a matter of opinion. If you care about the sound you really have only two choices, find someone with the same car tricked out in a similar way that you like the sound of or buy mufflers and try them until you get something you like.
Since your concerned about sound and its always hard to findsomeone with a car set up the same way as yours, the best I can hope to do is give you information to make an informed choice. Rather than tell you how a muffler works I'll just point you to the information and fill in some things they left out http://auto.howstuffworks.com/muffler.htm. With a turbo the turbine converts some of the pulse energy to work for compressing the intake charge. This acts like a baffle which helps reduce noise. This means you can go with a less restrictive/effective muffler. All straight through mufflers essentually have the same back pressure, except mabey a thrush pack because it has tiny baffles extending in to the pipe. They do differ on how much they reduce the noise though(thrush packs are better for reducing noise than cherry bombs).
I'm quite satisfied with the cherry bomb muffler I installed on my Mercedes 300SD. It drive great with the lower back pressure and its still very quiet. Of course it was very quiet with a straight pipe. This is because sound has to go through a resonator, an oxidation catalyst ( kalifornistani emissions
) as well as the turbo before it even gets to the muffler. Since its a diesel its eveltually going to plug up the cherry bomb with soot and I will effectivly have a straight pipe which is what I wanted in the first place, but with the fouled cherry bomb my car is still street legal. The whole install cost me less than$50. Five cylinder engines sound cool

gotta love ebay, got it for like 400. Thing is great, flows amazing, sweet sound and not abnoxiously loud. And it doesn't have ssac quality which is always good too.
