Remember me? Well i blew my headgaskets a bunch of times and now I am upgrading. Using DOHC JDM heads instead of SOHC heads and using a much larger turbo.

My car has been on stands for a month. Boo to rare JDM headgaskets that take WAY to long to get here.

While it was sitting I upgraded the brakes with WRX size rotors and calipers, also threw on a stock WRX exhaust (quiet)

thats it for now. Since the last time I updated I painted my FMIC black, got sti 550cc injectors and up'd the boost a little to much for the headgaskets i was using. still beat a lot of cars haha. stay tuned.

the heads are meant to spin to 8k, they do that with the stock ej20g block.

the redline on the ej18 block was 6250. its gona be 7000 now, not much of a difference and definitly not dangerous. i hope. hah

got the heads on after not having the allen key for the ARP head studs. Tomorow i retorque everything and hopefully assemble the rest. Than weds night itl go in. This is wishful thinking, highly doubt its gona work that way.

yeah i gasket scraped and cleaned it. doesnt matter to me. The machine shop checked the block and heads for levelness. everything checked out.

Did they check the heads for scrapes? I saw in the pictures you posted how you like to store them so the machined surface is in contact with hard surfaces and abrasives. That, cleanliness issues, and the fact it's a Subaru... uhm, no wonder you have headgasket issues. :-\

Unless it's a tune problem causing the headgasket issues... the bigger turbo will not help you.

haha. all heads were sitting on clothes. there were no hard surfaces. only heads that are on hard surfaces are my old ones...they are on concrete haha.

yes, they also checked for scrapes.

the block never touched the ground.

take some 400grit on a sanding block to the deck surface, spray the paper down with some brake clean and u can get it a lot cleaner. thats what tech's do on warranty subaru headgaskets :8

Nice job on the build. Reminds me of one of my friends builds. He threw a 2.0 block with 1.8 heads and a low boost turbo setup under the hood of a legacy wagon. It all came out pretty sweet.

Get that beast installed then get some rippers vids!

the incar shots (sans the drifting one) were slow, I was only running wastegate pressure then. Now I am running 20psi, its a whole different beast.

I did the same thing with my old man's subaru forrester at the local country club ;)

In the northwest, snow tends to shut everything down, so it was a massive empty parking lot.

my bov SUCKS! I dont know why but under full boost it isnt venting enough and causing the compressor to surge. Thats the tweety bird getting fucked noise. AS for power, I am not sure. Im hoping for atleast 250awhp.

If the BOV isnt venting properly, I bet thats why you are popping intercooler hoses! Was happening to me as well, till I got a big enough connection for the BOV.

Thats what you get for using a fancy turbo xs bov, this kinda stuff never happens with a dsm bov. 250awhp in a subby should put you in the high 13s bracket... Your car looks clean too.
