Default Little help with a Cavalier z24

I recently got a 1995 z24 cavalier with the 2.3l quad 4 auto. Im not sure what site/forum is good to get info from but as far as I know now I basically have obd1 and the 2.3l which was changed to 2.4l in 96. The motor in my car has like 220,xxx miles on it, and it leaks water now so I plan to replace it and put in a manual tranny also. Im not sure which motor would be my best investment considering I do want to go turbo if it is a good idea? I want this as a daily driver to save money on. I dont want a handful of maintance but I will spend money on the car. I dont wanna just run the ---- outta the car, I want to make it last. I would be fine with a solid 14-15 sec car on street tires. Im gonna get some pics up asap but just wanted some opinions. Also I got this car for next to nothing and that is the main reason I have the car. Im not someone who bought the car and wants to make it fast now to be cool like the rest of the kids. I just got a good deal and it will have to do. I would love a civic rabbit metro or any other lightweight car but a cavalier is still a nice fairly lightweight car.

Thanks

I wanna do whats right and this is a different car then a honda or any other 80s -2000lb hatchback. So basically ill do what I got to do. I know 14-15s is kinda a low goal but im on a low budget and im picking a engine for upgrade possibility and reliability. I know that has alot to do with how I keep up with the maintenance but it could be narrowed down to certain motors that are better ya know? Trying not to sound like a nooby here lol. Basically I wanted a lightweight car mainly just to get point A-B without the guzzle of a v6/8. As far as what I see as fun in a car I am pretty much into the handling and the pull of the car. I guess you could say the "Go-kart effect"...... I do like audio so I will have like a 8w7, but I dont think I will have a xbox, tv, etc. Other then that I am not sure what you can do legally to loose weight in the car to get the go-kart effect.

I already knew about those sites but cant find much info on the swaps and turbos. Kinda seems like the car doesnt have many options.

I just found out that the 2.3l auto for 95 had a obd1 computer but a obd2 chip.... That may be backwards cause I forgot..... Anyway ive been doing alot of reading and I basically have a wierd car. I need some ideas for
