i like it a lot, and would definitely go there again, but it should be WAY down any list...

you have to be a better driver to drive normally with one installed, thats for sure.

I'd do it for increased engine braking and red light revving/2-step works better. The question you need to ask is, do I want these things?

you'd be sorely disappointed. engine braking is due to friction and compression/pumping losses.

only if you are pumping the clutch :-) and if so, you would get less engine braking then anyway, and less stress on the box, less stress on the box when you launch too because less inertia in the engine for the drivetrain and clutch etc to take care of. all a non event anyway. stock is just fine. a little trim to tidy it up is a good thing IF done right.

Hadnt had a chance to reply to my own thread. Just got flywheel resurfaced and decided against lightening. Really dont think Ill have any probs w/ lag at all. Found a tustworthy GM specialty shop in town that would shave up to 5lbs. and balance it for 110 though. Good to know theres a place like that local. Thanx guys for all your help help. I always always trust anything Chris has to say. ;)

balance it to what RPM?

Proper step cut then balanced to 9k rpm is $175, look up old VW dudes for the work.

$175 for a stocker cut to 12.25 lbs and BALANCED to 9k rpm, or $200 for a 10.5 off the shelf unit you hope is balanced right.

VW air colled guy cut mine......

Imbalance is measured in mass, not rpm. if you have it within a certain tolerance, it will be happy to a certain rpm without exceeding a certain force on the bearings that hold it there. all three numbers need to be in that equation.

its totally meaningless to say "its balanced to 9krpm"
