If you drive it sensibly and have a good tune on it, the motor will last. If you do stupid ---- like 4th gear pulls and un tuned, then don't expect it to last.

so true, i mean $350 give or take a few and you can have another used motor...and they can last for a while at that

yeah, but swapping new engines in can get old fast. I was sick of it after the 3rd engine, which is why I'm not boosting right now. Maybe if I had a garage... But right now I'm stuck with a carport that I really don't feel safe leaving my stuff out in. All the parts and tools in the kitchen was causing some serious marital stress! I guess when I finally build a garage I can destroy all the engines I want!

Personally was using uberdata and an afc, but I think I had a fuel problem that didn't relate to the tuning. There was actually something wrong with the fuel system (other than the pump) that kept causing me to run lean no matter how much fuel I programmed in. Next time I boost I'll get a fuel pressure gauge and probably a vac gauge so I can tell what is happening. Oh well, lesson learned. Back to your normally scheduled thread.

---- you, i do it almost everyday comming home from work on the off ramp. holding fine for me.

ooo...and i hold a solid 5psi untuned. tuned, i will raise it to 10-12 with no worries. bbka daily drives his stock boosted sohc, i think 12psi, and no problems what so ever. its all in how you build it.
