Neat idea, but mostly ineffective. He should have shown different responses for each gear. He is adding a time delay response to a system which makes it unpredictable in each gear because of loading.
He talks about the effect of "spinning the tires" after a shift. If that is what he is after, then just make the system slightly underdamped to give a slight boost spike. Then he'll achieve good response and a good bit of "tire spinning" fun.

This so called "fix" is adding some delay for the pressure to reach the wastegate actuator and prevent it from opening early which usually happens with internal wastegates.
He did this by adding 2 meters of tubing and a 10cm x 2" container in between.
The problem is boost spikes and response of the wastegate. Plus it's going to be a small diameter for the flapper.
His graphs are deceiving because it doesn't apply to all gears.
Keeping the wastegate line short and using a ball and spring will work so much better.

In addition to what whiterice said, he also is not showing other response scenarios as well besides every gear.
Also needed is acceleration in each gear from some rpm point that is above the boost threshold, meaning say greater than 4k rpms.
This will get closer applying an impulse which shows the step response of the system. Note though that this is not the true step response as only a true impulse will show this.
I'm betting that if you floored that thing at 5k, it would overshoot like a MFer.

My mate has built a "anti wastegate creep device" and his Doesnt Overboost.
But his is being a ***** and doesnt want to biuld me one, but it defiantly werks.....
the more comonly known name is a Grainger Valve....
