Engine Type

In-Line 4-Cylinder

Engine Block/Cylinder Head

Aluminum-Alloy

Displacement (cc)

1998

Horsepower @ rpm (SAE net, Rev 8/04)*

197 @ 7800

Torque (lb.-ft. @ rpm)

139 @ 6100

Redline (rpm)

8000

Bore and Stroke (mm)

86 x 86

Compression Ratio

11.0:1

Valve Train

16-Valve DOHC i-VTEC®

seems like too much trouble for just 250hp, i think you could hit that with hondata, i/h/e and cams easily,,, i would do a full build 11.0:1 comp ratio=scary O0 and shoot for nothing less than 300whp with a t4

Re: K20 turbo

the k20 in the si only makes 160hp not 197. i'd go with a t3/t4, at www.sfp.net there's an si like yours that makes 300hp at 10psi w/t3/t4.

yeah a nice 60-1 from full race with the "S" cover and .70 AR on the intake should do nice on low boost.

as far as the higher compresison go, tuning is the keys and owns most newbs, get some management like K-pro and you will be okay

Hey are you talking about the complete kit frin SPF or just a t3/t4 turbo? The Complete kit costs $4500. Thats insane. Then I would also have to buy a turbo timer, boost gauge, etc etc. Thats a dam lot of money. I dont think i have seen a turbo manifold for the SI k20 motor. If you guys know where i can get one let me know

K-series is hype.

Either you have a lot of money, already have the car AND have a lot of money, or you ---- the dumb ---- and go with a cheap older car to boyracer out and run an affordable B/D series turbo.

i have the car, all i wanna do is make it go fast. Now, give me the best option, Supercharge or Turbocharge? I heard that superchargers give you more power through out the power band. Also, which one will give me the most power for the cheapest price? and does anyone know where i can get custom intercooler piping for my 02 civic si hatch?

Re: K20 turbo

No, the JRSC blowers do not give you more power throughout the powerband. However, I actually LIKE them on a K-series as the ability to flop the intake cam around like a limp wrist performs a reasonable approximation of an actual "blower cam," which is something that does not exist in the rest of Honduhland.

Go with whatever is cheapest for your power level - probably not going to be a SC - and avoid Cybercrapnation.

Be prepare to pay at least the price of the k-pro, injectors, and the price of a normal custom B-serie turbo-kit.

Anywhere of that won't be reliable and OBD II C will kill your power.

Uh.... I thought that the 02 up civic si hatches have the OBD 5 ecu chip set, not the OBD II C.
