upgrade the down pipe, exhaust, and IC piping at least. But if you manage to 3" the entire exhaust, you should be able to replace....you know what ---- it. Replace that entire setup if your wanting more. Plenty of nogs on here to sell to

Like i said CALL larry, ask him, he'll spit out all the info you need :)

i'm outta town and i'll see if i can dig up some info when i get back.

but i can tell you that, the y8 head was designed to increase tq in the lower rpms, one side of the ports on the intake is smaller than the other. It also has a curved intake divider which was also designed to aid in low rpm swirl.

If i remember back in the day, Zexman went from a stock z6 head to a fully ported y8 and lost something like 30 or 40hp.

wow. i'm pretty simular with his engine specs.

d16y7 block
d16z6 head
d16y8 intake manifold

stock rods/pistons.

didn't want to fork over the cash to have piston rods swapped out. i'm a cheap bastard.

and waiting on my taxes to pay for my turbo setup. i can only hope for 225whp (because i don't want to destroy my engine)

Good luck with that...

We ran the bbka tune @ 10psi @230whp, and it only took 2 month's to crush 3 of the 4 pistons ringlands.

mother fucker... i just put the motor in too..

now i got to fork over $400ish in parts the money to swap the pistons out. ugh i dread having to pay for the gaskets all over again.

how much power can a stock d16 rods hold up i wonder?

I dont think the log is an issue.

First Id start with as big a downpipe and exhaust as possible.

But dont think your gonna go places with that 48. Its a bottle neck.

Btw I think your #'s are decent. Plenty of torque.
