just another project :)

Just started my project and want to share with you all and thank you fo all the knowledge I found here which allowed me to think I can do it, we will see ;D
First of all list of what I am going to put in:

HF mani with adapter plate
T25 turbo off saab (tiny as hell, but I want street car with excellent low-end/middle)
BOV off the same saab
custom oil line kit
alum charge pipes (with thermo resistive foam on it)
LC-1
FMIC off Focus TDCI
DMS 450's
Radiator off VTI 5 gen (it is narrow but thick - hope will make it)
Chpped ECU tuned (hopefully by me) with TE (new wersion with trace capabilities)
EGT (actually custom made digital thermometer with range up to 1200*C - originally designed for heavy industry), guys who sold it were not sure is the sender unit will last long in exhaust gases - we'll see.

With all this stuff I am looking for 180WHP

I made so far:

Chipped PM6 EDM with IMA ECU. This one is not using O2, but IMA sensor (intake manifold adjustment) - there is a trick to make it work with O2 WB - it takes to connect O2 voltage to pin 2 of IC12 and you can feed ECU with raw WB voltage (0-5V) - tested on PM7 only with NG55 - so I will be a tester on PM6 with NG60 O0.
Here are pics of ECU. On the pic inside the car the yellow wire is analog1 of LC-1.

ECU in car - in the beginning there was a chaos :S

http://images2.fotosik.pl/133/d23b93afdf2f34f7.jpg

I heard a lot of stories about voltage offset between ECU and WB.
here is what I did with ground and power wires.

http://images3.fotosik.pl/133/4b39d3a13307b392.jpg

Those are additional ground wires - one of them goes to ECU ground as well.
So I am pretty sure I won't have to face voltage offset ;D

Here is a pic of head ready to bolt on and Cometic HG.
Just waiting for some stuff from Honda and it is ready - all seals new, cleaned combustion chamber and new valves.

While waiting for needed parts connected all electrical stuff likie gauges and other

Here are my babies :)

My wife theated she will leavie me if she will ever see the read one again 8), so I am occupying my parents' backyard.
Anyways hoping she will change her mind as soon as the car is drivable :)

Feel free if you have any suggestions/comments :y

Yeh sweet setup
Dump that T25 tho their pointless on any honda , get at least a T3 / Td05 8)

Why did you do all this. I'm using the same pm6 ECU, simply feeding the WB output in C16. Datalogs fine, no problems whatsoever.
IMA is disabled in the NG roms by the way. So I think you dont need to worry about that.

IMA:
(1) intake manifold adjust
(2) integrated motor assist
(3) internal memory adder
(4) idle mixture adjuster
(5) incredible monstrous avalanche

Re: just another project :)

Now I know T25 thing is tiny as ---- of Nigerian who did not eate for a week (the turbo from my avatar has a copressor inlet bigger than my turbo :S), but it is too late, got all adapters and stuff, if I will make it to drive I guess I will be looking for better top-end power and then I'll get a bigger one :y, but for now i'll try with T25 - it came from 2.0L engine so expect it won't be that bad even that engine was reving to 5,5K RPM only.

Actually EDM ECUs with IMA (Intake manifold Adjust) have a bit different pinouts thatn US/EDM lambda ECUs - here C16 is used for pin for checking the ignition timing with strobo light (or whatever it is called - the light to set the dizzy). It has O2 circuit but not connected to anything and yes NG55-60 will disable IMA so it takes to solder the wire and it's there - maybe I did something what was not needed, but before getting head off I started car on a bsemap I made and it worked so I don't care.
Due to luck of time there is no prgress :(

ooops IMA stands for... idle mixture adjuster ;)

I'm saying i'm from europe as well and I'm using a PM6 with ima, and I've simply hooked up the wideband to C16 and I am datalogging, without any issue (except a small voltage discrepancy, gotta fix the ground yet).

So... if you haven't yet gone to all the trouble, try hooking the WB first, much less work.

Re: just another project :)

whatever it stands for, I got an electrical chart of what is connected to ECU and doubt it will work for me.
C16 is like mentioned is connected to Ignition Timing Adjasting Connector, just confirmed tracking the wire to C16 so doubt will work for me.
besides since C16 is allready used I do not think connecting any voltage there is a good idea - maybe my ECU is different or someting.
Anyways thanks for advice ;)
cheers from Poland 8)

Here is completed project with the dyno run chart. I know this turbo is small for you and not capable of any good pwr,
but this is street setup so I like the quick spool and torque at low/mid RPMs

Any comments appreciated ;D

hey. i got me a four dizzle to and am puting a turbo on it. it has a b16 in it already. it should be pretty quik. i like how you arent expecting 400hp like all the newbies. yoour plans are very realistic. i got a t25 to but im selling it asap to get a t3 or t3/t4.
