Its not the actuator, its the turbo. Need options.

Well my turbo on my 4.0 inline 6 jeep was blowing right past the wastegate. I modified the actuator to open earlier and it didnt help. I disconnect it all together so it was open all the time and it still builds boost. I took the turbo off the truck and took it apart. I found the wastegate hole was only a bit larger than 5/8". The flapper is huge compared to the hole so I drilled it out to 1". Think this will regulate or no? I think the displacement is too much for the tiny hole. Im thinking my only option is an external which there is no room for.
Think I should try it with the 1" hole?

It looks like a T3 exhaust housing with a 1" hole. I am going to blend the inside and try it. It can't hurt and I can't get an external and get it in the truck by Sunday when I'm supposed to go wheeling anyway.

Do you have exhaust on this or is it just a open dp? I did a turbo setup for a friend on his h22, full 2 1/2 exhaust (no cat and a straight through muffler) and a open wg dump tube. External Wg has a 6lb spring and it would blow right past it 6 lbs and keep on climbing. So As soon as I put the open wg dump tube back into his 2 1/2 exhaust it would go to 6lbs and hold steady. It was like the exhaust was almost syphoning air out of the turbo and creating boost.

Yeah, I hope its going to work. I just ported and blended the inside to increase the flow a bit. I need to get the broken bolts out of the inlet flange and put it all back together to see if it works.
P.S. don't use stainless hardware. It will gall in the threads.
