BB turbos cannot easily be rebuilt like a journal bearing turbo can. A used one with unknown oil supply all its life is a ticking time bomb. Used turbos in general are on par with used pistons IMHO, but at least you can cheaply rebuild a non-BB turbo, and usually you can buy 3-4 used Journal bearing turbos of the equivalent size for the price of the used gt28 (which aint that impressive to begin with...).

I was planning to go junk yarding, there is a place in toronto that has a $50 day and you can take all the stuff you can carry out, so they have some turbo stuff there that I could get i/c and piping from!
