The metal latch is like 8mm thick with a mean mother off a spring.
But Yeah if Im on the higway or out of downtown I dont do it.
But otherwise comuting in bumper to bumper trafic at 2Kmph not much risk of that hapening.
THe temps are fine if the car is moving. Its the trafic snarls that take its trip.
Which is why the fan idea. All the mods sugested should just help the fan work better. As well as make space for it.

sounds like something else is wrong...check all the normal coolant problem spots

I think I might try the hood washer shim idea. I don't have heating probs now but it's alwayse better to be safe than sorry on those Hot summer days
