Default Intercooler question.

Is the term bumper to bumper trafic something you guys are familar with in your part of the world ?
My setup starts boosting by arround 1500 RPM like 1-2 PSI. And when I get caught in trafic which is pretty much everyday. The engine temps shoot up.

Would mounting a ultra thin radiator fan work. Between the air scoop and the intercooler help any.
I know I could just go try it.
But it means re-cuting the hood and buying the fan.
Right now Im just squirting water over the IC no spray patern loljust taped the wiper hose over the edge.

I run to thermo right now, but I just picked up my 160deg today. I'm tossing in my accord rad which is 2x the thickness of my EF rad. I have 2 slim fan mounted as pushers and still can hit 210 on a hot day. Welcome to the world of boosted. Someone might say try Red Line Water Wetter, but I have had no luck with the crap.

BTW, Air Scoop? And why would you have to cut your hood to get a slim fan in?

raise the back of the hood with washers or spacers. This will help the engine heat escape.

Thanks man thats a cool idea. Will do.

Heres another idea
I normally drive arround with the hood poped.
i.e. pull lever inside car hood pops up an inch or two in front.
If you really want to open it you have to put your hand under and pull the latch.
Since the latch keeps it from flying open the air gap of 1-2" in front also helps it breathe. While moving.

thats not too smart the wind flowing under the hood could cause it to break the secondary latch and slam that hood into your windshield..........not worth it

ya, dont drive with your popped open.
here is an old pic with the spacers in the back of the hood. i've used 1" and 1/2" a few times. works great.

You could remove the rubber strip from the cowl.

And make sure there isn't and underlying reason for increased temps that's not turbo related... i.e. radiator, cap, thermostat, coolant mixture, water pump, blockage, headgasket, sensors, etc...
