it is january and 20 degrees F i have about 2 months before it starts to get warm do you think i should wait before i start installing the turbo and work the bugs out in the spring or should i just install the kit i dont want to be stuck out in the cold in the middle of nowhere what do you think
plus i really dont want road salt on my new custom coach FMIC

 

I dont have anny personal experience living in cold weather but I would say wait.Like you said it would suck to be stuck on the road when its that cold.

 

I just installed my t25 last week... but then again I do live in Texas :P

It was down in the 20s here... borrowed a friend's garage and a portable heater. not bad at all. I worked all the bugs out by test driving around the block, then drove it home 200+ miles.

 

well anthony, where do you live? If you have snow on the ground id say forget it, wait untill spring. Ive been working on my other engine in my unheated garage and it sucks donkey nuts... wait until its warmer out. Plus youll never get traction in snow to begin with, itd be a waste.

 

safer to run boost when it is 20 deg than when it is 80. Just a thought. I say take advantage of the weather. suck it up and put on a jacket.

 

Its snows here in michigan and I recently put my sunfire up for the winter.

Anyways its up to you, it was obvious that i had more power in the colder weather. Even on dry pavement I couldnt get traction before 50mph with an automatic.

Although when its snowy it sucks.... your tires start spinning and boost builds very fast. Its fun hearing your bov though or in a parking lot when you spool like mad. People turn their heads thats for sure

 

Watch the weather. I spent about 4 hours outside on the car yesterday b/c I knew it was going to get up to about 40. Once you are moving around and wrenching you are pretty warm. Frustration keeps you warm too

 

wear some sort of gloves too. Only 1 thing hurts more then hitting your finger with a tool. hitting your finger with a tool when your finger's are freezing!

 

Man I live in Canada and it's been about -25 here for the last couple of days so I know what cold is. I would wait until it warms up a bit, I think you would enjoy the whole install a bit more if you weren't freezing your *** off. I definatly would not install that intercooler if they use salt on your roads!

In Canada with a lot of snow on the ground WILL suck with traction seeing as i already have problems but I also have 50x30ft shop, heated, air tools, tv sterio the works!!!! so i have no problem!
