thats a pretty good idea...i think i might do that...make a lil extra money and help some of the wrecking yards out with business... :)

And rare thunderbird turbos have the 0.63 a/r turbine, making them the SAME as a early 300Zx T3.

There are (were?) many many more 84-86 2.3T Ford .60 trim T3 made than there were 87-88 IHI crap cars. Aside from some housing differences (slip vs bolt on exits) it's the same turbo.

YEah sure the real good 2.3 turbos are the garrett's. most of them are 0.48 a/r but sometimes i see the 0.63 a/r 5 bolts outlet one and that is a NICE turbo. Equivalent to the old nissan T31 T3 but with the standard bolt pattern.

The IHI from the thunderbird and Xr4Ti is nowhere as nice as the t3 60 but slapping it's compressor on a Mx6/probe turbine can be a lot of fun on small engines and motorcycles.

XR4ti's all got the .60 T3, no IHIs there.

so there's no manual with the 0.48 a/r ????? WHy are they so rare then??? I guess most thunderbirds were automatic?? quite possible, not a fan of that car!! just the turbo!! :y
