Re: Input on Bseries Turbo Build...
Get a turbo from your dad. Easy.

Re: Input on Bseries Turbo Build...
Lol i know that much...i mean regarding Manifold Turbo Fitment Issues....I am thinking of using a Nissan Turbo...Probably off of a late 80's 300ZX or something..but would i have to custom fit a manifold for it...and also regarding intercooler piping and such...would i be able to buy a kit and modify it a little or would it be easier to just try to custom fit it...

Re: Input on Bseries Turbo Build...
the only tihng your really gonna need is a manifold, a welder and some piping. everything else you can easily get from your dad. the fabrication parts are completely up to you, unless you wanna get the pricey ---- like i did whihc would seriously dent your budget

Re: Input on Bseries Turbo Build...
a 300zx turbo would be too small imo
find a turbo thunderbird or something |
Re: Input on Bseries Turbo Build...
Get some injectors and blow off valve from a DSM Eagle Talon etc and then get a turbo from a Thunderbird not sure which years you want but someone can chime in on that.A intercooler can be found in many cars get the biggest you can dig up and you have most of the hard parts other then a mani.

Re: Input on Bseries Turbo Build...
While your at it. Go through the yard and get some turbo parts and post them for sale on here and you can fund your kit. Since i gave you such a good idea you can send me some turbo parts for free. Ill take just about anything. PM me for my address.

Re: Input on Bseries Turbo Build...
i think the thunderbird turbo you want comes from a 88-89 thurnderbird. but dont quote me on that its late 80's early 90. look it up on msn auto. they will show which models to look for.

find a turbo thunderbird or something And rare thunderbird turbos have the 0.63 a/r turbine, making them the SAME as a early 300Zx T3. They're good for 100-250HP and can be pushed to 300 HP. |

Re: Input on Bseries Turbo Build...
YEah sure the real good 2.3 turbos are the garrett's. most of them are 0.48 a/r but sometimes i see the 0.63 a/r 5 bolts outlet one and that is a NICE turbo. Equivalent to the old nissan T31 T3 but with the standard bolt pattern.
The IHI from the thunderbird and Xr4Ti is nowhere as nice as the t3 60 but slapping it's compressor on a Mx6/probe turbine can be a lot of fun on small engines and motorcycles. |
Re: Input on Bseries Turbo Build...
XR4ti's all got the .60 T3, no IHIs there.
.48 automatic vs .63 5 spd |
Re: Input on Bseries Turbo Build...
so there's no manual with the 0.48 a/r ????? WHy are they so rare then??? I guess most thunderbirds were automatic?? quite possible, not a fan of that car!! just the turbo!! :y
