Injector Nozzles

Jeff, what is the purpose of the black plastic piece around the nozzle of the injectors? Can you use the injector without it? Can it be replaced if it is broken?

I'm not Jeff, but, I believe it's to seat the injector into the intake manifold. If you pull the rubber seat where the injector sits, you'll see the hole that it fits into.

I broke one of my injector's casings when doing my multi-point swap and it wouldn't seat correcttly until I replaced the injector.

The little plastic tip is just a protective cover that goes over the tip of the injector.. If one is cracked, I would get it replaced, but it will work without it.
