About the IHI rhB5, YEah, the probe one is much easier to work with. The subaru 3 bolts flange is really odd.
THe main RHB5 weakness is a huge crack accross the wastegate dump hole which, unlike T3's, quickly enlarges and creates a lan exhaust pressure eak that kills your spool up and power. it's very hard to fix and not really worth it anyways. Just open the wastegate flapper and inspect the hole for crack prior to buy / install.

grab a turbo off a saab or merkur in the junkyard...

 

And you're saying this why? Most saab t3's are .42/.48's and a few have t-25's. Merkur's, turbo-coupes, and svo's have a more desirable .48/.60 t3, but they're not a 60 trim.
