You presented a pretty strong case against yourself. Put down more power, motor runs better, seems like a pretty obvious choice to me.

FMU's work but I'll wager money that if he were to keep driving the car like that, it would sound like a subaru in a short period of time.

By the way I pulled the FMU off the CRX you sold me tonight...looked like the vacuum line had collapsed and the FMU wasn't doing much. Car isn't boosted anymore so if anybody wants that FMU it's for sale dirty cheap.

its aight, its not gonna blow up and if you think it is then put your money where your mouth is. My setup is not the same, and no its not intercooled, stock cars come non-intercooled ---- stick. So its not gonna make a god damn difference besides in power. I have datalogging, and Im using TE. If you paid attention in other threads you might make it somewhere next time with your put downs about it not lasting a week rejected h-t members. I have put in my 450's, 255 walboro fuel pump, new fuel filter, soldered my ecu with datalogging and getting my zif peice soldered in. then its off to the dyno tune. Thanks for all your help XENO and everyone else who has answered the many ?? I had. I would have went with a chipped ecu and tuned along time ago if I knew it was this cheap. I just thought there was more involved in it than that.

should have stuck with the fmu i bet $ it blows on the dyno with your chipped ecu, please update us with what it put down at 6200 right before it blew :P

seriously, the stock cars that come non intercooled are low compression piles of ---- from the 80's that run 4.8psi. A 10.3 :1 or whatever b16 should certainly have an intercooler when being turbocharged. Chaunty *** homo ----------er

The s2000 has a 10:1 comp ratio if i remember correctly, there a several non intercooled s/c kits that are being sold for it that use a fmu and some without an intercooler. Greedy sells a non intercooled d series kit with the shitty "blue box" thing and that kit works good for what it is. not saying that an intercooler is not vital, all im saying is that every one always assumes that your motor will automatically "blow" if you dont run one . Retard timing a bit , run higher octane fuel, keep the boost low and you should be good to go.

My old pos sunbird turbo (2.0 sohc) was not intercooled and did not have a bov....Now I see why the pos motor did'nt last long and cracked heads all day long....Should have integrated that on it a long time ago....I would intercool something if I had the chance.

superchargers also dont heat the air up as much as turbos.

You can do without one, its just stupid considering how cheap they are. Cheap insurance, plus more timing, more boost, etc. Even a $25 dsm core is lightyears better than nothing.
