ihi turbo question

I have a 91 DX D15B and was wonting to do a custom small turbo set up and have been trying to piece together the parts needed. I ordered a turbo off ebay and it came today and I was suprised at the size of it. With the attatched links is this turbo going to be to small or it is going to work for my application?

Looks pretty small compaired to my T3, but thats for my B series. I think that turbo on your D15 will be fine. Not too small.

damn small ass ihi's!!! those things are soo small and cute, its funny! i would never use one of those turbos! if you do use it, you will spool very quickly but may lack on top end power. i would just try getting the t25 from an eclipse if you still want good spool and a better pull than the little ihi! it should work fine just if you want more power (trust me you will!) you will most likely have to switch out that turbo first... :-\

what he said! if your going to make an adapter plate just get a t3 to start off with. if you go with the ihi youll have to purchase another adapter plate and evena new downpipe when u upgrade from that small ass ihi.most of the t3 stuff is interchangeable.i bet that ihi makes boost in neutral!

i dont think a T25 is much bigger than an IHI....

Re:ihi turbo question

the IHI isn't much smaller than the T25 BUT noticable where i believe the IHI gets full boost at ~3000rpm while the T25 should be around 3500.. give or take a few 100 on each turbo. although the T25 will reach redline or maybe to 6800rpm before flattening out but the IHI will go to 6500rpm, depending on your downpipe and how big diameter it is.

I am currently almost completed my IHI RHB5 turbo set up and i just want the ------- car running again!!! i miss my EF Si Hatch!!! i'll run this set up for a while.. then save up for a better set up, already got the turbo in mind a t3/t4b turbo. but the IHI should give you enough power for now :)

Re:ihi turbo question

i guess its just me but those ihi turbos are just way out of the question when trying to turbo my car! i personally would never use anything smaller than the t25 on a d-series. the 14b and T3 are your best bet!

my ihi on d16z6 runs like a raped ape at 10psi. why wait for turbo lag when you dont' have to? it pulls hard all the way to redline.
